PRIM Symbol T.G.M. – Tribute to Masaryk and 80 Years Since the End of World War II

Limited edition watches PRIM Symbol T.G.M. pays tribute to Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, the founder and first president of Czechoslovakia, whose vision of democracy and humanity laid the foundation for a modern state. This model is also the first of the commemorative watches that we will introduce in 2025 in honor of 80 years since the end of World War II – a tribute to the fight for freedom, continuing Masaryk’s efforts for independence.

The watch is available in two color variations – elegant black and deep blue, with each color strictly limited to only 50 pieces, resulting in a total of just 100 units. The dial features a relief of the Czech lion with two tails, symbolizing national identity and continuity.

The limited edition PRIM Symbol T.G.M. watch pays tribute to Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, his legacy, and the values on which he built Czechoslovakia. The design of this model is inspired by Masaryk’s vision of democracy, humanism, and national integrity. This elegantly sporty model features a newly designed textured dial with raised elements, a ceramic bezel, embossed indices, and a subtle stamped lion symbol on the right side of the dial, all protected by high-quality anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

Watch enthusiasts and collectors of this edition will appreciate the specially designed raised indices with a luminescent coating at their tips. Attention to detail and symbolism are key elements of this limited edition, making the addition of national colors at the 1–14 minute markers and the central seconds hand of the off-centered subdial stand out. The limited edition PRIM Symbol T.G.M. is equipped with the Swiss Sellita SW 290-1 caliber. and the transparent case back reveals a detailed view of the modified rotor engraved with PRIM AUTOMATIC. The case is made of premium 316L stainless steel, available in PVD-coated or polished steel finishes, further refined with brushed and polished details. A screw-down crown featuring the PRIM symbol is a standard feature.

PRIM Symbol T.G.M. is not only a tribute to Masaryk’s ideals but also a lasting reminder of those who fought for our freedom—from the founding of the republic to the victory in 1945. PRIM Symbol T.G.M. is more than just a precise timekeeping instrument; it serves as a reminder of Masaryk’s unwavering spirit, his contributions to the nation, and a legacy that endures to this day.
The word symbolum originates from Greek and represents a sign carrying deep meaning. In the case of the Czech double-tailed roaring lion in mid-leap, it signifies Czech statehood, independence, and the determination to defend them. This emblem has been known for over nine centuries, making it essential to remember and honor its significance.

But let’s return to the symbolism. In addition to the emblem on the dial, framed by a ceramic bezel, another symbol can be found on the leather strap. The edition number and description are engraved on the case back, which features a transparent window revealing the rotor of the automatic Swiss movement Sellita SW290-1. This movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, provides a 38-hour power reserve, features 31 jewel bearings, a quick date-change function, and an off-centered seconds subdial at the 9 o’clock position.
We have mentioned the dual symbolism of this edition. The second aspect lies in the fact that its design is inspired by the PRIM Sport series. The stainless steel case, featuring a screw-down crown with 100-meter water resistance, and its bezel, pay homage to a well-known Czech model. Along with the distinct PRIM logotype in a rounded design on the dial, this makes for yet another symbolic element of this remarkable limited edition of 2 x 50 pieces.
