About the collection

The traditional race Rallye Dakar 2024 means the 15th model of the limited series of PRIM Dakar watches for the family manufacturer of the Czech PRIM watches. We have prepared a limited edition of 150 pieces not only for fans of the 46th year of the world’s largest rally. Collectors will appreciate the timeless sporty look and graphics with race milestones associated with the 46th year of the Dakar, as well as the material used for the production of the watch case – titanium alloy. The Dakar series watches are inspired by daring racers and their teams. 10 ATM water resistance, Swiss caliber Ronda 5020.B, screw-down crown, strong luminescence and sapphire glass and ceramic bezel insert are already a matter of course for the Dakar model.

The limited edition PRIM Dakar 2024 sports watch will be tested by the Dakar matadors – ambassadors who are fulfilling their next racing dream: Tomáš Ouředníček and David Křípal (Toyota Gazoo Racing Czech team). From the 2023 season, they have available the latest specification of the Toyota Hilux GR T1+ factory racing special. Thanks to the support of Toyota Czech Republic, after a demanding approval process, a top machine that is conceptually identical to the winning car from Dakar 2023 will be in the hands of Czech racers.

This year, the edition was to be tested by another great team with Ollie Roučková and navigator Jiří Kopřiva for the Czech Samurais team. They were supposed to represent the Czech Republic in the “Classic Dakar” category. This is a regularity competition for cars from the 1980s and 1990s. Unfortunately, the team had to withdraw from this year’s edition due to health reasons. But even so, Ollie will be part of the events of the Dakar in the Czech Republic and will be a great asset when commentating on TV broadcasts.

Pilots, riders and navigators will be accompanied by PRIM watches designed and manufactured by a Czech family company on the demanding stages of the Dakar 2024 race. For this occasion, we have developed a sports model that best suits the extreme conditions of the race, but also catches the eye with its detailed design. This year’s model PRIM Dakar 2024 traditionally attracts with its original appearance of the dial with the indicated milestones of the race in Saudi Arabia:

Dial Symbolism

As every year, this time we have also prepared news for you in this year’s PRIM Dakar 2024 limited series. All our PRIM Dakar limited editions are characterized by several exceptional elements. The change this year is playing “prim” and we therefore decided to make a Dakar watch as a tribute to the legends and ambassadors of PRIM “riders”, thanks to whom we have been preparing and constantly improving the model for 15 years.

A layman can think what the given symbolism shown on the dial means. Let’s take a look at the milestones we have chosen for this year’s design as a reminder of the key concepts of the 46th Dakar Rally:

1. Engine – this year’s category

4. 12 Stages – that’s how many stages there are in this year’s 46th edition of the race
5. 14 days – 14 days of racing (including the prologue and a new special 48-hour phase)

7. Alula – “City from the dawn of time”. Start of the race and prologue in the city of Alula
8. Trucks – this year’s category
9. Cars – this year’s category
10. Light weight vehicles – this year’s category

The multifunctional chronograph watch is made of anti-allergic titanium alloy, which is extremely resistant to corrosion. The watch case has a surface modified by sanding and is characterized by a touch of matte grey colour. Swiss quartz movement with chronograph caliber Ronda 5020.B with large date at 6 o’clock has been inserted into the watch case. The watch has a base also made of titanium with an originally proposed design of racing categories and a reminder of the start city and finish of the race.

Water resistance of 10 ATM and a screw-down crown are already a matter of course for the model. Underneath the durable anti-reflective sapphire glass is an elaborated dial and chronograph counters in the pattern of a car wheel rim. The main chronograph hand is decorated with a unique limited edition number and thus complements the specially ground designed hour and minute main hands for this model. The sporty look of the watch is given by the popular and durable matte black ring made of ceramic and equipped with a tachymetric scale with luminescent filling. The time measurement period is shown in the subdial of the counter at the 9 o’clock position (the larger hand shows the measurement up to 30 minutes of time) together with the hour counter (the smaller hand shows the measurement up to the 12h time period). The limited edition number is traditionally found on the label on the left side of the case, but now the serial number of the watch is also specially placed on the weight of the main chronograph hand. The seconds hand of the main time is located on the sub-dial at the 3 o’clock position. The date is placed at the 6 o’clock position. The hour hands and indexes are covered with a strong luminescent layer for better time reading in reduced visibility.

The watch is equipped with a high-quality rubber strap with leather decoration on the front. The strap has a robust buckle with logo. There is also impregnation and a “quick release” system for easy replacement of the strap without the need to use a puller. The watch is delivered in a themed box with serial number, warranty card, user manual and service card.

The stainless steel pull is not included, but it can be purchased separately(stainless pull RA.13137 is compatible with all Dakar models 2016-2024).

Ambassador of a women’s model PRIM Dakar Ollie 2021 and PRIM Dakar Ollie 2021

Ollie has an eventful racing career behind her. In January 2015 she was a part of Intercontinental Rally race in Africa, which traces the steps of the original African Dakar. And she won this race in her category.

This first long-distance Rally initiated other racing successes – Albania Rally, 3rd place, Bohemia Baja 300 – 2nd place, Baja Hungary – 1st place among women, 2nd place among men and overall 5th place in category Quad/ATV.

Many other races in the Czech Republic and Europe count to her success on the global Rally scene. Apart from racing and preparations for Rallies, Ollie devotes her time to a racing project for the development of the youngest race drivers – Ollieracingteam.

Successful Czech driver of the cross-country rally, racer and a fighter on track, but also outside of it. Czech automobile racer and site 2017 an ambassador of the watches PRIM. Tomáš Ouředníček is the most successful Czech navigator and is also a bearer of the best result in the category of automobiles, as he finished 7th in the Rally Dakar in 2009.

David Křípal

Tým Ultimate Dakar Racing

David Křípal has been the navigator of Tomáš Ouředníček for the third year in Dakar. In 2020 they ride together in their own Ultimate Dakar Racing team. His talent for navigating was already visible in Morocco Desert Challenge race, where David unmistakably navigated and together with the pilot Tomáš Ouředníček, they won the absolute ranking of the automobile category.

Rallye Dakar

We have long been supporting Rallye Dakar drivers with our exclusive PRIM Dakar Edition. These watches have served the drivers well on many occasions.

In addition to the top Slovak motorcycle rider Štefan Svitka, we are also supporting the Andorran driver Alberto Llover, the only handicapped driver at this year’s competition, in the truck category racing for the Bonver Dakar Project team. We have also given our support to Jaroslav Valtra’s Tatra, which has been successfully competing in the Africa Eco Race also as part of the Bonver Dakar Project.

Our “Dakar” watches are synonymous with quality and durability. In the development and manufacture we use the latest technology to bring you watches that will last for generations. Playing their part in developing and testing these watches are our partners – “Monsignor Dakar” himself, Karel Loprais and the head of the team Bonver Dakar Project and a three-time participant of the Rallye Dakar, Tomáš Vrátný.

News and changes to the race

Racers can look forward to 60% of new sections of the track. A total of 12 stages will be raced over 14 days, including a unique element that will interest all motorsport fans: the 48-hour phase. This innovation replaces the traditional marathon phase.

This new stage format takes place over two days, with the limitations of a classic marathon phase. All participants will be forced to stop their vehicles at the next bivouac they find at 16:00. Competitors can help each other during the evening rest.

With no possibility of communication or information about the competitors’ results, the competitors spend the night and set off again at 7:00 a.m. the next day to complete the remaining part of the stage. The scores will be tallied after approximately 600 kilometers of the special stage.

Another important change is the separate route for cars and trucks from motorcycles. This means crews will have to rely more on their navigational skills as they won’t be following in the footsteps of faster two-wheelers. This presents an additional challenge for all participants.

The multifunctional chronograph watch is made of anti-allergic titanium alloy, which is extremely resistant to corrosion. The case has a surface treated with grinding and is distinguished by a touch of matt grey. Set into the case is a Swiss quartz watch movement with a chronograph caliber Ronda 5030.D with an exposed date wreath with a date readout at the 4 o’clock position. The watch also has a bottom made of titanium with an original design of the legends of the PRIM Dakar edition ambassadors.

Water resistance of 10 ATM and a screw-down crown, is already a matter of course for the model. Underneath the durable anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass is a sophisticated dial and chronograph numerals in the shape of a car wheel rim. The main chronograph hand is decorated with the year of the race 23 and therefore complements the main hour hands. The sporty look of the watch is given by the popular and durable black ceramic ring with a tachymetric scale with a luminescent layer.

The length of the measurement is shown on the counter at the 9 o’clock position (measuring up to 30 minutes of time). The limited edition number can be found on the label on the side of the case.

The second hand of the main time is located on the sub-dial at the 3h position. The hour counter is located at the 6 o’clock position (measuring 12 hours), around which a circle with the inscription “limited edition” is highlighted. The hour hands and indices are covered with a thick luminescent layer for better time reading in low visibility. For the 2023 model, we have chosen a version of the tachymetric scale on the lunette insert which is made of ceramic. The watch is fitted with a high-quality rubber strap with leather decor on the front. The strap has a robust buckle with a logo. There is also an impregnation and an “easy-click” system for easy strap replacement. The watch comes in a box with a Dakar 23 edition gift knife, a warranty card, instructions and a service card.

The stainless steel movement is not included but can be purchased (the RA.13137 stainless steel movement is compatible with all Dakar 2016-2023 models).
