About the Collection
To mark the 700th anniversary of the birth of the “father of the country”, Charles IV, one of the most famous Czech kings, we have prepared a limited edition of luxury men’s watches bearing name – the PRIM Tourbillon Karel IV. The influence of Charles IV on our country is daily brought mind and thanks also to his deeds, especially in the field of architecture, our beautiful country is known the world over. In creating this collection, we drew inspiration from the artistic styles that characterized Charles IV. The works made during his reign have survived for centuries and created an obligation to which we submit with honour.
For the PRIM Tourbillon Karel IV. edition, we chose proven materials, modern technology and the traditional art of Czech watchmakers. The heart of the watch is the royalty of clockwork complications – the Tourbillon. At the same time, we used one of the symbols of Czech statehood, the St. Wenceslas crown set with garnets, sapphires and diamonds, to also decorate our royal watches.
The size of the new collection is limited to Charles IV’s own age – it ends with number 62. It is also marked with the oldest PRIM logo ever created, i.e. for the then Chronotechna facility in Šternberk in 1955. You can choose from Silver, Gold and Gold Rose designs, which will be delivered with a certificate of order in a noble wooden box.

Technology
The royalty of watchmaking complications is the tourbillon. This is a mechanism that compensates for the influence of gravity on the accuracy of watch movements. It is a mechanical anchor mechanism, located inside a movable platform with centralized inertia, which rotates around its own axis once a minute, thereby providing a change in the position of the flywheel relative to the Earth’s core.
This is one of the “high” clockwork complications of so-called Haute Horlogerie. It was invented by A. L. Breguet in 1795. Tourbillon watches are only offered by high-quality watch brands, and are indicative of the brand’s standards.

PRIM Tourbillon Karel IV.
GOLD
Watches from the PRIM Tourbillon Karel IV. collection are made of stainless steel polished to a high gloss with subsequent gilding using the IPG method. The case has a distinctive and stylish indentation around the perimeter. The dial contains an aperture revealing the mechanical movement of a regal clockwork complication called a tourbillon. This rotates at the 6 o’clock position and also serves as the second hand. An enamel dial with printed Roman numerals and relief indices with diamonds and sapphires creates a unique and luxurious combination. A garnet is set into the crown. The date is indicated at the 2 o’clock position, inside a circular counter.
One advantage of this mechanical model is that it shows the winding reserve, informing you how much time is left before the watch stops. Watches are equipped with a sapphire glass which is highly scratch-resistant. The whole mechanism is enclosed by a back containing a visor of mineral glass, around the circumference of which is inscribed the concise characteristics of the model along with its serial number. A water resistance of 5 ATM predestines this model to be worn for social occasions. These luxury watches are supplied with a certificate and warranty card in a highly polished, luxury wooden box.
