About the model
An exclusive pilot mechanical watch with a chronograph and a self-winding watch movement. The case is made of 316L noble stainless steel in a combination of gloss and matt. After the successful edition of the previous model, we have again decided to use the NE88A (Seiko) watch movement, which will be appreciated by true connoisseurs. The actual production of the caliber for our project took over 2 years. It is a fine watch movement that came on the scene in August 2014. It is distinguished by a modern high frequency, a power reserve of over 45 hours, a high number of stone settings (i.e. 34 synthetic rubies) that reduce possible friction of the shafts and other components. The caliber has a modern construction, and it is precise and reliable, while the owner will appreciate the gentle operation of the chronograph buttons.
For the PRIM Pilot watch we decided to use a modern look with traditional pilot elements, so that the watch is an attractive addition to your wardrobe. The design of the watch was created by our studio designers who carefully selected the colour combinations and materials for this timeless model. The designers of our manufactory designed a special font of numerals, which was then produced specially for our limited edition. The dial itself has been modified by using the sandblasting method, creating a unique structure that is complemented by luminescent Arabic numerals along with a minute scale.
The workmanship of the watch will capture everyone around you and leave a true impression on them. The sophisticated lines of the larger 45mm case and the originally designed pilot crown are adding the right elegance to the watch. This exceptional watch is made with the highest precision and impresses with its luxurious workmanship. The overall look of the pilot watch is emphasized by the watch hands used, which unreservedly belong to this model.
The pilot’s distinctive dynamic elements are evident on the front of the elaborate dial. The pilot watch hands, and indices are covered with a super lumini layer to allow for reading the time in low visibility. The watch is equipped with a high-quality anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass. The 10 ATM water resistance ensures high durability even for demanding customers. The watch is matched with a leather strap with traditional studs and complemented with a double buckle with a so-called bow tie. The limited edition is produced in only 50 pieces. This luxury watch comes with a certificate and warranty card in a special box. So if you love aviation or you are looking for a timeless functional design, this watch is made just for you.
The watches from the PRIM Letoun Zlín Z-XII collection are available in three colour options. Blue -20pcs, Beige — 15pcs, Rose gold — 15pcs

Timeless NE88A movement
It is a great compliment for a watchmaker when competitors decide to use that company’s movement. This is the case of the Japanese company Seiko and a brand like TAG Heuer and its purchase of the license for the Seiko 6S37 for their Calibre 1888. But other manufacturers such as the Germany’s Junghans, France’s Pequignet, or Lithuania’s Vostok-Europe have also chosen to use Seiko movements in their watches.
The modern NE88A movement was launched in August 2014, and was based on Seiko 8R39. It shares characteristics with the „iconic“ Valjoux – 28,800 beats per hour, a minute and hour reader, and a central tracking second hand. But there are fundamental differences, too. Unlike the Valjoux, it does not use a cam lever. Roughly speaking, it comprises a system of levers through which time is measured once the button on the case is pressed.
The Seiko NE88A uses a column wheel whose centre piece is characterized by its thumb-like or battlement-like shape. This design is standard for most Swiss high-end manufacturers. Among other things, it ensures a finer and more precise start for the chronograph.
In addition, the NE88A uses a vertical clutch for starting, stopping, and zeroing the chronograph. Although much more demanding to manufacture, it gives the whole mechanism added quality. Seiko also includes its own, more unusual zeroing solution, i.e. returning the hands of the small minute and hour counters and the big central second hand. It is common to use only a pair of hearts; these are also turned with hands to the 12 o’clock position by a single lever. Then they immediately jump back to “zero”. But only the chronograph second and minute hands, of course – not the hour hand. The Japanese movement can also do this. It has a three-arm lever that turns three hearts in one moment, and thus all the chronograph hands.
Seiko and this chronograph movement can boast one more feature that you would usually find in movements made by brands such as IWC, Cartier and the like. This is eccentric winding – which Seiko was indeed only the second company to introduce, shortly after IWC. It involves an additional mechanism that greatly accelerates the automatic winding of the drive spring during the standard movement of the rotor. This guarantees the movement’s power reserve. Quick winding, like you get in the NE88A, then dramatically affects the accuracy of the watch, since it ensures a tremendous power reserve shortly after putting the watch on the wrist.
So what does the SII NE88A offer? Modern high frequency, power reserve for more than 45 hours and a huge number of jewel bearings (34 synthetic rubies) to reduce the possible friction of shafts and other components. The movement has a modern construction and is accurate and reliable. Owners will doubtless appreciate the precise operation of the chronograph buttons.
Historie a zajímavosti o letounu Zlín XII
The first Z-XII (serial number 101, OK-BTA) took off in April 1935. A total of 201 Z-XIIs were produced between the years 1935 and 1939, most of which were powered by the Persy II four-cylinder air-cooled flat-plane engine. This type of Z-XII became the most widely used European sport aircraft.
Jaroslav Lonek (22 December 1904, Chrudim – 26 January 1945, Dresden) was a Czech aircraft designer, pilot and a representative of the Czechoslovak anti-Nazi resistance. On the 10th of September 2020, a replica of the interwar sports and training aircraft Zlín XII was christened at the Metoděj Vlach Aviation Museum.

An unremarkable piston-engined aircraft, originally intended for basic pilot training, but later in some versions an excellent acrobatic machine. This is a brief description of the Trainers. The Zlín Z-XII was a Czechoslovak single-engine sports and training biplane all-wooden low-flying plane from the mid-30′ of the 20th century.
The most important construction of Jaroslav Lonko and the first type of aircraft mass-produced by the Zlín Aeronautical Joint Stock Company (part of the Bata concern). Lonek developed the design for the Zlín XII project during his time at the East Bohemian Aero Club in Pardubice, but it was not realized until 1935, when Lonek became the chief designer of the Zlín Aviation Joint Stock Company. Thus was born an exceptional aircraft, which was produced in more than two hundred and fifty pieces and operated in eleven countries until the beginning of the Second World War.
